Love the Lifestyle While You Recover
At Hillcrest Millard, we strive to provide a comfortable environment to suit the needs of our guests. Our post-acute rehab center can serve 76 guests in two separate neighborhoods, each offering 38 upscale private rooms.
While our team is always focused on rehabilitation and therapy to make our guests well, we also truly value their independence. With fun gathering spaces for guests and their families, they can stay thoroughly entertained between therapy sessions if desired. Our calendar of events is full of activities to keep guests engaged and support their recovery efforts.
Our culinary services are top-of-the-line, with an executive chef focused on hospitality that rivals a vacation resort. Our culinary team prepares made-to-order specialties that are unmatched in the health care setting. Guests can enjoy social interaction in our attractive restaurant or choose the comfort of in-room dining while recovering. See a sample menu for the Boxcar Restaurant here. The 132nd Street Bistro, proudly serving Starbucks® coffee and drinks, offers grab-and-go options or a casual environment to visit with family members.
With 25+ years of experience in post-acute rehabilitation, we understand what it takes to help guests get back to their optimal level of function. We have our own team of therapists, not a contracted third-party therapy company, to provide guests with consistent and reliable care throughout their stay. With state-of-the-art therapy equipment, we provide innovative physical, occupational and speech therapy to help speed up recovery.
Our entire team is focused on each guest’s recovery so they can return to their optimal level of function after transitioning to home or a lower level of care. Guests stay with us for an average of 14 to 20 days based on their physician-directed care plan.
Hillcrest Millard also provides 17 specialty rooms for guests with cardiopulmonary diseases. These rooms feature piped-in oxygen and are staffed by professionals who are experts in respiratory care, in addition to our full complement of nurses and techs experienced in high-acuity transitional care.
Recovery doesn’t stop when guests leave Hillcrest Millard. We know guests will need support as they transition back to the community. We’ll assist in seamlessly transitioning guests to other levels of care that may be needed.
When ready to transition from our in-patient rehabilitation centers, most individuals return home or to his/her independent or assisted living community. For those who return home, skilled home health services are provided following the transition. From skilled nursing, wound care and telehealth vital sign monitoring, to in-home physical, occupational and speech therapy, Hillcrest Home Care can assist homebound patients with their recovery.
Another advantage of Hillcrest’s continuum is the shared electronic health record, allowing team members to access guests’ history and medical charts to ensure continuity of care. No other post-acute health care provider in Omaha has this level of technology available.
The final step in most post-acute care plans is outpatient therapy. A physician will prescribe physical, occupational or speech therapy in an outpatient clinic setting, such as Hillcrest Physical Therapy in Bellevue, to follow either in-patient rehab or home health services. Therapists work with patients to regain strength, balance, motion and the ability to perform the activities of daily living. Therapy may last from a few weeks to a few months depending on the severity of the patient’s condition, as well as how quickly he/she responds to therapy.
