U.S. News & World Report Names Hillcrest Firethorn Among “Best Nursing Homes” for 2020-21

Hillcrest Firethorn has been named a Best Nursing Home for 2020-21 by U.S. News & World Report, a national news organization that evaluates and rates health care providers across the country.

Hillcrest Firethorn earned the Best Nursing Home status by achieving a rating of “High Performing,” the highest possible rating, for short-term rehabilitation. U.S. News gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those facilities that satisfy their assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by such a distinguished publication,” said Barry Emerson, Hillcrest Firethorn Administrator. “Our goal is to help guests recover and return to the place they call home. As evidenced by being named one of the best, it reinforces that we’re always dedicated to delivering high-quality care.”

The short-term rehabilitation rating incorporates measures of quality including consistency of registered nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs and success in preventing falls. Hillcrest Firethorn is among just 21% of U.S. skilled nursing facilities recognized as a Best Nursing Home for 2020-21.
