Hillcrest Hospice Care to host Kids Grief Camp

Join us for an evening of remembrance.

Hillcrest Hospice Care, with training and collaboration from Grief’s Journey, is sponsoring a FREE Kids Grief Camp on Thursday, August 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. The camp will be held at Hillcrest Home & Community Services Education Center at 1820 Hillcrest Drive in Bellevue.

The camp is for youth who have been affected by the death of a family member or friend. During the camp, children will rotate through craft stations, creating items to remember their special person. In a separate area, adults will learn about grief and how it relates to youth.

“This is the first event of its kind we have offered here at Hillcrest Hospice,” said Valerie Height, Bereavement Coordinator. “We are hoping for a big response from the community, as we know there are many youth in our area who have been affected by grief.”

A light meal will be served from 5 to 5:45 p.m., and the program will begin at 6 p.m.

Trained facilitators will be available to answer questions. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult, who must remain on campus for the event’s entirety.

Limited spots are available. RSVP by August 24 at hillcresthealth.com/events/kids-grief-camp. For more information, call (402) 934-2518.
