The Midlands Business Journal selected Matt Oestmann, Vice President of Rehab and Post-Acute Services, as one of their 40 Under 40 this year. Matt has been a driving force behind Hillcrest Health services, especially Hillcrest Home Care’s growth from a handful of team members to around 70 dedicated professionals. This growth represents a greater impact on the metro community as it serves thousands of aging adults, helping seniors maintain independence in their homes.
Oestmann is also responsible for Hillcrest’s inpatient and outpatient therapy services, overseeing one of the metro’s largest therapy teams. At approximately 100 rehab professionals, Oestmann’s team provides geriatric rehabilitation across its continuum.
Under Oestmann’s charge, Hillcrest Home Care went from serving a dozen patients on average each day in Sarpy County to serving 300-plus seniors across nine counties, making it one of Eastern Nebraska’s largest home care agencies. During Oestmann’s almost seven years of leadership at Hillcrest, the organization has become Bellevue’s fourth largest employer and one of the 10 largest employers in Sarpy.
Oestmann earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Dan College before going on to receive his Master of Physical Therapy and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UNMC. Before joining Hillcrest in 2007, his experience spanned an outpatient orthopedic clinic and community hospital in Iowa. Oestmann was promoted to director of therapy services in late 2007 and administrator of home care in 2011 before moving in 2016 to the executive team, as both a vice president and company shareholder.
