Rehabilitation Transitions in the Age of Reducing Rehospitalizations
Presented by Dawn Venema, PT, Ph.D.
Dr. Venema is an assistant professor in the Division of Physical Therapy Education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Her clinical experience as a physical therapist focused on reduction of fall risk in older adults. At UNMC, she teaches a course related to interpreting and applying research findings to physical therapy practice, as well as a course on teaching mobility skills to patients. She is actively engaged in research on reducing fall risk in hospitalized older adults and the effects of dual-tasking on mobility in older adults, particularly those with cognitive impairments. Dr. Venema will share best practices on the vital role rehabilitation plays in reducing rehospitalizations.
